About Sunflower Sprayfoam

Sunflower Sprayfoam was founded in July 2007 by Russ Foust.  The company is based out of Lawrence, KS, but its employees travel all over the state and into neighboring states for jobs.  The company’s goal is to ensure the highest quality of service by having a small and dedicated staff.  Russ Foust owns and operates the company, but he is a major part of each job from beginning to end.  He even sprays most of the jobs himself.

Services

Sunflower Sprayfoam has experience with residential, commercial, industrial, and many agricultural projects.  It can also install commercial foam roofs and coatings. One of its specialties is insulating metal buildings, shops, and barns as well as insulating transfer, stock, and storage tanks, which lessens the energy and heating requirements for seperating the oil and transferring the oil.  Sunflower Sprayfoam can even insulate most attics in existing homes as long as they can access the roof deck and soffits or vans and trailers.  The versatility of foam insulation is only limited by the imagination.

  • To show up on time; and
  • To complete each job in a timely manner in order to not tie up the jobsite any longer than necessary.

More Benefits, Savings, and Cost of Sprayfoam

Sprayfoam insulation is the best product on the market to insulate a home or building.  It is the most versatile and healthiest of all insulation materials.  It also creates the most consistent and most energy efficient structures around, eliminating hot and cold spots with a true air barrier product.  In most cases, a homeowner will save 30-50% on their current energy bills with the application of sprayfoam to the roof deck of the home.

These benefits do come with an investment.  Sprayfoam insulation is generally three times the investment of fiberglass/cellulose or other open cell products on the market, BUT you only insulate ONCE with closed cell foam.  It will not degrade or settle like other insulation materials, and it will ensure years of consistent savings.  The cost difference between sprayfoam and other products, on average, pays for itself in under 5 years through savings on heating and cooling bills alone.  There are very few products on the market that can claim such a fast payback, and with energy costs rising, those payback estimates are getting shorter and shorter.

An average 1500-2000 square foot home in new construction generally costs around $9,000-$14,000 depending on many factors.  The average retrofit attic costs around $2000-$4000 depending on the complexity of the roof and square footage.

However, there is a tax incentive for this insulation. Your tax credit can be 30% of cost, up to $1,500 if it meets 2009 IECC & Amendments.   For insulation to qualify, its primary purpose must be to insulate. (example: vapor retarders are covered, siding does not qualify). Also, it must be expected to last 5 years OR have a 2 year warranty. For more information on this tax incentive, click here.
